If you are a user of Boxee on your home computer, I have some good news and some bad news. I will start with the good news, after all, we all enjoy the happy stuff. They have issued a major overhaul to the service with their latest update. It changes nearly everything about the user interface. The home screen is new, the main menu is new, they added rotten tomatoes ratings, and so much more. If you want a complete rundown on everything that is changed, check out the official release notes. For Boxee users, this update is awesome.
Now, while this update is great, I also mentioned bad news which is that this will be the last update for the computer based Boxee. They believe that the set-top box is the future, and they are going to abandon their desktop interface. This update is great, but as issues arise in the future, there won’t be much that can be done.
