News - Apple iOS 5.1 Beta hints at Quad Core iPhone 5

Apple is rumoured to be releasing the iPhone 5 later this year and this week, Apple actually released a new version of their iOS 5.1 beta software to developers. According to the reports, there are only a few minor changes in this OS including the addition of the 3G data dongle feature that isn’t currently present on the iPhone 4S device. However, developers have said that below the surface, there are hints that the next version of the iPhone or iPad device could be powered by a quad core processor.
This isn’t the first time that Apple have hinted at future products by adding code to their iOS releases and it is now believed by many developers that the iPhone 5 and iPad 3 could feature quad core processors. In the last release of the iOS 5.1 software that was sent out to developers back in November of last year, Apple hinted using code at the new Apple TV device that is rumoured for release this year. There was also code that referenced two new versions of the Apple iPad as well as a new iPhone device that would be powered by a quad core processor.
If Apple is working with quad core processors for the next iPhone and iPad devices, they would be able to power even more high quality displays for the iPad and add a range of additional functionality for the iPhone device.
