News - Netflix Now Available in UK And Ireland


Netflix logoNetflix has officially launched its streaming movie service in UK and Ireland. Along with the launch, Netflix has also released its app foriPhone and iPad in the App Store. Netflix is also accessible on thesecond generation Apple TV.

Starting today, people throughout the UK and Ireland can begin a free, one-month trial of Netflix by simply visiting Netflix.com. Members can select and instantly watch a wide array of Hollywood, local and global TV programmes and films on their TVs via a range of internet-connected devices capable of
streaming from Netflix, including Smart TVs, game consoles, Blu-ray players, tablets and mobile phones.
"We are starting 2012 in the best possible way: by giving consumers in the UK and Ireland an amazing entertainment experience," said Reed Hastings, co-founder and chief executive officer of Netflix. "Now, you can enjoy as many great films and TV programmes as you want, when you want, where you want, for one low monthly price with no contracts or commitments."
Netflix is offering its streaming movie service for £5.99 per month in the UK and in Ireland for 6.99 euros per month and is giving away a free one-month trial.
It remains to be seen if Netflix will be as popular as it is in the US where over 20 million members have subscribed to their service, especially with competition from LoveFilm that has been around for quite sometime and was acquired by Amazon in January 2011.
